About FORTH CERT
The Foundation for Research and Technology
- Hellas is a leading scientific research organization in
Greece. It comprises of 6 Institutes in various scientific
fields.
The Institute of Computer Science (ICS) participates actively
in the Internet Community. ICS introduced the first Internet
connection in Greece in 1989, operates the Greek W3C Office,
operates the Registry of the [.gr] country code Top Level
Domain.
The FORTH network spreads over 4 different cities and provides
backbone network services to the Science and Technology Park
of Crete as well as the European Network and Information Security
Agency (ENISA).
FORTH CERT is the Incident Response Team
of the Foundation for
Research and Technology - Hellas. The FORTH CERT operates
under the Institute
of Computer Science and provides services relating to information
security incidents.

The Internet has provided easy and cheap
access to our day-to-day business with governments, banks

it gets, the more the exploitation of security problems grows.
The Computer Security Incident Response Team
assist into providing a single point of contact
for Internet security related problems and also acts as a
news library for security information and advice. Here you
will find information on security vulnerabilities, computer
viruses, advisories and also advice on a course of action
for dealing with a specific problem. Our goal is to improve
awareness and system security.
